JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Developing and updating the EHSMS (Environment Health & Safety Management System) for Abu Dhabi Mall in order to register our organization in the future with the Abu Dhabi EHSMS.
  • Actively reviewing the EHSMS on a bi—annual basis to enhance/improve and comply with local government guidelines, and regulations.
  • Liaison with AD EHSMS.
  • Liaison with the concerned LOCAL AUTHORITY regarding EHS measures and standards to implement in our shopping center.
  • To conduct the following:
  • Health &Safety Risk assessment and control
  • Hazards and controls associated with work equipment.
  • Hazards and controls associated with the working environment.
  • Hazards and controls associated with hazardous substances.
  • PPE — Personal Protective Equipment audits and follow-ups.
  • To ensure compliance with HACCP & COSHH control/guidelines.
  • To actively follow up any shortfalls of the above in a strategic manner. To immediately advise management of any serious deviances, near misses, or violations
  • in relation to the above.
  • Coordinating with shop fitting, marketing, FM with works related to EHS.
  • Monitor and control the high-risk activities of the ADTC contractors by checking equipment certificates, operator’s certificates, method of statement, risk assessment if necessary and issuing the approval forms.
  • Immediately reporting any non-compliance and / or negative attitude to fire, life, health & safety.
  • Conducting safety awareness and training for tenants & contractors.
  • All training is to be recorded, signed off, stored in chronological order and be available for inspection if needed.
  • To ensure that Abu Dhabi Mall is a safe place for both tenants, visitors, contractors and staff.
  • Day-to-day operation as a senior officer in the safety & security department including Supervision of safety & security staff, and prompt follow-up to any shortfalls.
  • Conducting surveys and reporting accordingly on Tenant’s activities related to EHS.
  • Participating in emergency planning and fire strategy.
  • Enforcing emergency planning and fire strategy in line with approved planning and strategy, through regular/frequent trainings/drills.
  • To ensure the emergency action plan flow chart is current, and updated if required, with appropriate correct contact names, numbers, and e-mails.
  • Contact, and follow up with companies and suppliers related to EHS for supplying equipment or providing services. Ensuring the contractors/suppliers details are current and updated if needed.
  • Reporting to the FM manager on a timely basis, including a quarterly report.
  • Reporting to the Chief safety and security officer on a timely basis.
  • Maintaining and strategic storing of records and reviewing.
  • Control any unauthorized hazardous material movements on the mall during and outside working hours (if required) and report/action / enforce accordingly.
  • Monitor/enhance where possible and follow up on any H&S equipment/operations via CAFM / reporting structures to ensure all security equipment is accounted for, serviceable and in good working order. This includes CCTV cameras and monitors dead spots and deficiencies.
  • To conduct a full key muster on each shift ensuring that any missing keys are accounted for.
  • To ensure all access control functions are carried out effectively according to the post. This includes swipe card access control measures functionality and serviceability where applicable.
  • Conduct assurance checks on FM cleaning staff ensuring the standard of appearance and areas of responsibility are monitored and any deficiency is reported to the relevant person. Ensure areas are kept clean as per contractual arrangements.
  • Ensure contractors and maintenance teams are monitored and adhere to site-specific HSE and security regulations (including the use of PPE). Conduct checks to ensure there are no breaches of health and safety such as the blocking of fire escapes and noise levels.
  • To conduct systematic regular checks of ADMTC patrol reports conducted around infrastructure such as generator rooms, chillers, lifts, escalators, doors, gates, barriers, delivery areas, and external interfaces such as Jal Boot and BRAD to ensure patrolling function compliance.
  • To conduct daily rounds of security staff at all ADMTC areas such as atriums during events, taxi ranks, designated smoking areas, waste disposal areas, etc. to ensure they are all compliant with ADMTC security and HSE regulations and procedures.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in HSE roles (specific years can be specified).
  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Proficiency in HSE-related software and tools.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in HSE activities
